Highlanders Drop to Butler in Historic Hinkle Fieldhouse on Monday Afternoon

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The NJIT men's basketball team drops to Butler, 101-52, at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Monday afternoon.

The Highlanders offense was cold to start the game going scoreless through the first eight minutes of the game until sophomore John Kelly knocked down a free throw to get the Highlanders on the board. Over that scoreless stretch Butler was able to get out to a 17-0 lead, yet the Highlanders were still without a made field goal.

Junior Sebastian Robinson recorded the team's first made field goal at the 11:02 mark in the first half with a nice layup through traffic.

Going into the half the Highlanders trailed 46-19 with Kelly leading the way for the team with eight points.

Coming out of the break the Highlanders had a stronger performance. As a team the Highlanders shot 13-26 from the field (50%) and scored 33 points.

Leading the way for the Highlanders was Robinson recording the team-high in points and assists with 15 points and four assists. Kelly followed with 12 points on 5-6 shooting from the field and freshman David Bolden finished with ten points, his eighth game scoring in double-digits this season.
