BOSTON - Matin Mahmoud earned the America East Male Rookie of the Week for the first time in his career, the conference announced on Tuesday.
 
The freshman posted a personal-best triple jump of 14.57m to finish second at the Wagner Shootout, ranking fourth in the America East. Mahmoud recorded his second top-2 finish this season in the triple jump.

After the holiday break, NJIT will compete at the Wagner Invitational on Jan. 17 at Ocean Breeze Complex.
