BALTIMORE, MD – The NJIT women's volleyball team drops straight sets to UMBC on Friday night in an America East matchup.

The Highlanders showed resilience after a slow start, steadily improving their offensive rhythm in each set. Despite the effort, UMBC maintained control behind a strong hitting performance and consistent defense.
Leading the way for the Highlanders was Sophomore
Ema Torres with 13 kills and 14.0 points. Freshman Martina Conzalo Cortes finished the match with six kills and 7.5 points, which was second most on the team.
Senior
Doga Emil held down the back line leading the team with 12 digs.
Sophomore duo of
Cece Marino and
Finley McAndrew directed the offense with 15 and 12 assists respectively.
As a team, the Highlanders totaled 32 kills on 103 attacks and collected 38 digs.
