CINCINNATI, OH – The NJIT men's basketball team drops game one of MTE to Cincinnati, 94-67, on Monday night.
The Highlanders started the game down in an 8-0 hole but were able to claw their way back using a few offensive runs but the Bearcats were able to quickly respond and went on big runs of their own during scoring droughts from the Highlanders.
At the break, sophomore
Ari Fulton impressed with ten points in the first twenty minutes of play and sophomore
Jordan Rogers corralled an impressive eight rebounds to start the game.
It was all Cincinnati in the first half and that trend carried over into the final half of play. The high-powered offense from the Bearcats was too much for the Highlanders defense to handle as they shot 34-69 (49.3%) from the field.
Freshman
David Bolden had himself another strong performance finishing with a team-high 16 points on 5-9 shooting from the field, including 4-7 shooting from behind the arc.
Junior
Sebastian Robinson was the third and final Highlander to score double-digit points with ten on 4-8 shooting from the field.
