Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Fulton Wins It for the Highlanders at the Buzzer

BALTIMORE, MD – The NJIT men's basketball team wins in dramatic fashion thanks to a Fulton buzzer beater to take down Loyola MD on the road, 66-64.

The Highlanders struggled to find their offense early in the first half but after the ten-minute mark, sophomore Jeremy Clayville was red hot behind the arc. Clayville started the game 0-2 from deep but after that stretch, he went 3-3 putting the Highlanders back in the lead.

Clayville led the team at the half with nine points, and the Highlanders went into the break with 29-27 lead.

Sophomore duo of Ari Fulton and Jordan Rogers also filled up the stat sheet after twenty minutes of play with six points each.

Clayville's hot hand continued into the second half with a nice layup through traffic and knocking down another three during the back-and-forth affair between the Highlanders and the Greyhounds.

Fulton completely took over the second half for the Highlanders leading the charge for a 10-0 run to get ahead by four. The Highlanders and the Greyhounds went basket for basket in the final seconds but ultimately it was the Highlanders with the final basket at the buzzer thanks to a mid-range jumper from Fulton.

Fulton recorded his first double-double of the season finishing the game with 22 points and 14 rebounds on 6-12 shooting (50%).
