Durham, NH – The NJIT women's volleyball team falls in four sets to the defending America East champions, New Hampshire, on Sunday afternoon.

The Highlanders came out strong, taking the opening set of the match 25-22 behind aggressive serving and steady offensive play from sophomore Martina Gonzalo Cortes, who led all NJIT hitters with 15 kills while hitting an impressive .478 for the match.
Senior Mariana Cova added eight kills and two digs, while setters Sophomore Cece Marino and sophomore Finley McAndrew chipped in with 16 assists each to pace the attack.
After NJIT's first-set win, New Hampshire found its rhythm offensively, hitting .476 as a team and limiting the Highlanders' scoring runs in the final three sets.
Defensively, senior Doga Emil led NJIT with nine digs, while Marino followed behind with seven digs and Freshman Emma Wild recorded six digs. The Highlanders totaled 33 digs on the day.
