NEWARK, NJ – The NJIT women's volleyball team snaps losing streak and picks up first home win of the season on Tuesday night against New Haven.

NJIT opened this midweek non-conference matchup against New Haven dominating from start to finish. The Highlanders outpaced New Haven offensively with a team hitting percentage of .242, totaling 57 kills on 132 attempts.
Ema Torres led the Highlanders with a great effort on both sides of the court, posting 13 kills and 11 digs which earned the sophomore a match-high 15.5 points.

Emma Wild also contributed significantly on offense, recording 12 kills each, while Sophomore
Finley McAndrew played a pivotal role at the service line, notching 6 aces and contributing 23 assists, which both led the team.
NJIT set the tone early with a 25-19 win in the first set, showcasing aggressive serving and net play. After dropping the second set 22-25, the Highlanders regrouped and stormed back with a decisive 25-17 third-set win before closing the match in the fourth, 25-22.
The victory marks NJIT's fourth win of the season and the team's first home win since the 2023 season.
