NJIT Swim & Dive Competes in Final Regular Season Meet Against Monmouth at Home

NEWARK, N.J. - The NJIT swimming and diving team (3-4) will compete in its final regular season meet at home against Monmouth (2-3) on Friday at 4:00 p.m. at the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center (BWEC). The meet will be streamed live on America East TV.
 
NJIT NEWS & NOTES
NJIT enters the contest with a 3-4 record in dual meets this season, most recently earning a 172-123 victory against Lafayette in the "out of the hat" meet on Jan. 25.
 
Ilias El Fallaki shattered the school record in the 1,000 freestyle with a personal-best time of 9:22.97 to win the event against Lafayette, ranking second in the America East. El Fallaki is the only swimmer ranked in the top 6 in the America East in four freestyle events, including the 200 free (1:39.06), 500 free (4:26.59), 1,000 free, and 1,650 free (15:44.05).
 
Adam Mekrami ranks in the top 5 in the America East in the 500 free (4:31.95), 1,000 free (9:29.13), and 1,650 free (15:53.56).
 
Borys Endle set two school records at the BU Terrier Invitational, including an America East-best 200 breast time of 1:58.46 and a 400 IM time of 3:59.25.
 
Sam Deemer leads the America East in the 200 back with a time of 1:47.36 at the BU Terrier Invitational.
 
Aidan Blackmon recorded a 50 back time of 22.73 at the BU Terrier Invitational, ranking fourth in the America East.
 
Pawel Drzymala ranks fifth in the America East with a personal-best 200 fly time of 1:49.85, which won the event against Rider.
 
SCOUTING MONMOUTH
Monmouth enters the contest with a 2-3 record in dual meets this season, most recently defeating Saint Peter's 181-76 on Jan. 25. The Hawks won 12 events against the Peacocks.
 
NJIT leads the all-time series 4-2 in dual meets. However, Monmouth won the most recent matchup, 145-135, on Jan. 14, 2023.
 
NEXT UP
The Highlanders will compete in the America East Championships hosted by VMI on Feb. 19-22 in Lexington, Virginia.
