New Haven, Conn. – Four members of the NJIT men's tennis team wrapped up play at the Yale Invitational this weekend. Soma Fukuhara, German Lopez Andujar, Pablo Perez Ramos and Nejc Skorjanc each competed in the three-day event for the Highlanders, with all four recording victories.

Skorjanc posted a perfect weekend, winning all of his singles and doubles matches. He opened the weekend by defeating his opponent from Penn State in a tiebreak, 6-3, 7-6 (7-1), before besting another Nittany Lion in Nolan Ranger the following day, 6-2, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4. Skorjanc's singles action concluded with a third victory on Sunday, defeating Chang Teng of Buffalo, 6-1, 6-7 (6-8), 10-6.

Perez Ramos also showed out on the weekend, dropping just one overall match. He bounced back from a Friday loss in singles action with a win over Cornell's Nathan Mao, 7-6 (8-6), 6-2, before a straight sets win on Sunday, 6-2, 6-3.

In addition to their successful weekend in singles play, Perez Ramos and Skorjanc combined for a strong weekend in doubles. The duo earned a victory over Yale on Friday, 6-4, before defeating duos from Cornell (6-3) and Penn State (6-1) on Saturday. The pair rounded out the weekend with a 6-2 win over Buffalo on Sunday.

Lopez Andujar notched two wins in singles action over the weekend. The senior earned a gritty win on Friday over Alexander Sterin of Penn State, 6-7 (1-7), 6-3, 6-1, as well as a victory over Denys Forgaci, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). Lopez Andujar and Fukuhara joined forces in doubles play for a pair of victories over Penn State foes. The first win came in convincing fashion on Saturday, 6-0, before capping the weekend with a 6-1 win on Sunday.

"We had a very competitive weekend at Yale," said head coach Marco Matteucci. "We saw a lot of success in doubles. Nejc did not lose a match and it's really good to see him play well. Pablo also lost just one match overall, and German and Soma did well with some positive matches."

Next up for the Highlanders is the Saint Joseph's Fall Invitational, which is set to get underway on Friday in Philadelphia, Pa.
