America East Official Release

NEWARK, NJ–Rising junior Briana Andreoli has been selected to the 2024 America East Conference Women's Soccer Preseason All-Conference team the league announced on Monday.  As a team, the Highlanders were voted sixth out of the nine America East teams.

Andreoli, an America East first-team selection last season, played in all 19 matches (one of nine players to do so) while making five starts. She led the team with six goals while adding first three assists for a team-high 15 points.  Entering the 2023 America East tournament, her goal and point totals were tied for third in the conference.

She recorded her first career brace at Vermont on Oct. 22 to help NJIT clinch its third straight appearance in the America East tournament while scoring once on four other occasions.  She had her first multi-assist game, setting up the game-tying and game-winning goals - after being denied a clear goal - in NJIT's 3-2 comeback win over FDU on Sept. 3.

The 5-foot-5 junior was named America East Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 23 after her two-goal showing at UVM, becoming the second NJIT player in the program's four-year America East tenure to have a Rookie of the Week and Offensive/Defensive Player of the Week honors.

The Highlanders will be looking for a fourth consecutive berth in the 2024 America East Conference Tournament (first time since making four straight Great West tourneys from 2009-12).

Ally Nick entering her ninth season at the helm of the Highlanders, guided NJIT to its first record of .500 or better since 2018 (7-7-5 overall, 3-4-1 during America East regular season play) in 2023, reaching the league playoffs as the No. 5 seed and the program's second-best finish in four years as an America East member (5th; finished 3rd in 2021).

The 2024 home opener is slated for August 15 at 6pm hosting first-time opponent Rutgers, who qualified for the 2023 NCAA Tournament, finishing the season 9-7-4 overall, 5-4-1 in the Big Ten.
