QUEENS, NY - The NJIT men's tennis team was defeated 4-2 by host St. John's on Wednesday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center.
NJIT dropped to 13-5 on the season, while the Red Storm improved to 15-4.
St. John's won the doubles point and then picked up three singles wins to clinch the match.
NJIT, who was playing without its top player
Pablo Perez Ramos, got victories from
Wil Jenkins and
Oscar Callo von Platen. Jenkins won in straight sets at the top singles position, while Callo von Platen was victorious at the third spot.
The Highlanders will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Delaware. First serve is slated for 3pm.
