SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The NJIT baseball team was defeated 13-5 by host Seton Hall in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon at Owen T. Carroll Stadium.'
The Pirates led wire-to-wire in Wednesday's game, scoring four times in the first inning and never looked back.
Seton Hall led 12-0 at one point before the NJIT offense put up five runs in the top of the fifth.

Ty Sallie to get the Highlanders on the scoreboard and then
Cade Ladehoff continued his impressive rookie season, belting a grand slam for his team-leading sixth home run of the season. Ladehoff, who also doubled in the game, is now up to 24 RBIs on the season, which leads the America East.Â
Seton Hall scored once in the bottom of the fifth to make the score 13-5, which held for the duration of the game.
NJIT's final three pitchers -
Hayden Estes,
Jake Fullerton, and
Joey Craska - were its most impressive arms on Wednesday.
Estes allowed just one run in 2.1 innings of work, while Fullerton tossed a pair of scoreless frames. Craska pitched a scoreless ninth inning and struck out a pair.
In addition to Ladehoff's two-hit game,
Kevin Putsky also had a solid offensive game for NJIT. The veteran was 1-for-1 and also reached base twice via walks.Â
The Highlanders return to action on Friday when they travel to Fairfield for a non-conference doubleheader against the Stags. First pitch of game one is slated for 11:30am.
