LAKE CHARLES, La. — The NJIT women's tennis team concluded its southern Spring Break trip with a 6-1 defeat against the McNeese State Cowgirls at the Nancy Hank Tennis Center.

NJIT's original contest against Northwestern State could not be played due to weather conditions but the Highlanders were able to test themselves against another Southland member that entered Friday's contest on a 12-match winning streak. 

Paula Menendez Alvarez helped NJIT avoid being shut out for the first time this season with a straight set singles win at No. 6

NEXT UP
NJIT returns to the east coast next week for the first of two straight matches in Philadelphia. The Highlanders will face Saint Joseph's on Wednesday, March 20 at 4 p.m.
