NEWARK, NJ - The NJIT men's tennis team remained unbeaten at home this season as it edged Southland Conference opponent Bryant, 4-3 on Sunday at the Naimoli Family Tennis and Recreation Center.
NJIT is now 8-1 on the season and 5-0 on its home court. Bryant dropped to 9-4 this spring.
The Highlanders went ahead 1-0 as they won two of three doubles matches. NJIT's first doubles pairing of
Pablo Perez Ramos and
Wil Jenkins earned a tiebreaker victory to clinch the point.
Perez Ramos made light work of his opponent at first singles, dominating his way to a 6-0, 6-0 win to put NJIT ahead 2-0.
NJIT also picked up singles wins from Jenkins (second singles) and
Oscar Callo von Platen (fifth singles) to get the four necessary points to clinch the victory.
The Highlanders will look to continue their home court dominance on Thursday when they host Monmouth at 2pm.
