PHILADELPHIA - The NJIT tennis team suffered its first loss of the 2024 seasons, falling 4-3 in a nail-biter to host Drexel on Friday at the Vidas Courts.
The Highlanders drop to 6-1 on the season, while Drexel improved to 5-2.Â
Drexel quickly got on the scoreboard with a pair of doubles wins and took a 1-0 lead into singles play.
NJIT earned victories from
Pablo Perez Ramos (first singles),
Wil Jenkins (third singles) and
Pavel Petrov (fifth singles), but the Dragons also earned three singles wins to take the match 4-3.
The Highlanders will look to get back into the win column on Sunday when they host LIU. First serve is slated for 4pm in the Naimoli Family Tennis and Recreation Center in Newark.
