NEWARK, NJ -- The Highlanders have 3 games left in the 2024 Fall semester going into tonight's game and were looking to get a non-ACHA win over the Stevens Ducks. But, it was a dominant performance by the Ducks, winning 10-1. The teams split the season series 1-1 and NJIT's non-ACHA record is now at 2-3.
Brenden Smith got the scoring started for NJIT 2:57 into the game with Sal Micciche getting the assist on the goal. Unfortunately, Stevens would dominate the rest of the way from that point on, scoring 10 unanswered goals. The Ducks would score 2 goals in the 1st period to lead 2-1 after 1 period. They scored 4 goals in the 2nd and 3rd periods (3 power play goals) to win in convincing fashion. Noah Gibb made 28 saves in the evening.
