Durham, N.H. – The NJIT women's volleyball team dropped its America East contest on Sunday to New Hampshire, falling in three sets (25-18, 26-24, 27-25).
The Wildcats controlled the opening set, taking the victory and the lead in the match. Sets two and three each went down to the wire. The Highlanders had set point at the end of set two, holding a three-point edge. 24-21. However, the Wildcats rallied from behind with five straight points to claim the set. NJIT also had a chance to claim set three, leading 24-22 in the latter stages but was unable to hold on.
Mariana Cova notched a season-best 13 kills on the day, finishing just two off her career high.
Ema Torres collected her third straight double-double, and her fifth of the season, by tallying 10 kills and 13 digs.
Cece Marino posted her second consecutive double-double with 30 assists and 12 digs.
