Philadelphia, Pa. – Members of the NJIT men's tennis team competed this weekend at the Saint Joseph's Fall Invitational. Juan Diego Argenal, Soma Fukuhara, Sadhista Linga, German Lopez Andujar, Severin Risan and Tom Sorin took part in the event for the Highlanders.

Fukuhara and Sorin each recorded a pair of singles victories on the weekend. Fukuhara opened his weekend with a straight sets victory over Santiago Valle of Saint Joseph's, 6-4, 6-4. He followed that up later Friday morning with a win over Jose Murariu of Lehigh, 6-4, 4-6, 10-7. The freshman's weekend in singles action would eventually end against Miguel Machado of Bryant, 6-2, 6-2.

Sorin also notched a pair of victories on the weekend, his first coming against Villanova's Will Monahan. He followed that up with a win over Tristan Duvall, 6-0, 7-5, for his second win of the invitational. Sorin would eventually be defeated by Drexel's Egor Kirakosov, 6-3, 6-3.

In doubles action, the tandem of Argenal and Linga was able to notch a victory on the weekend. The pair earned their win over a duo from Jefferson University, 6-4.

Next on the schedule for the men's tennis team is the Navy Invitational, slated to take place Oct. 11-13 in Annapolis, Md.
