Men's Swimming And Diving Closes Out Regular Season With Win Over Lafayette

1/27/2024 7:14:00 PM

EASTON, Pa. — The NJIT men's swimming and diving program completed its regular season schedule with a 166-125 road victory over the Lafayette Leopards Saturday afternoon at the Weinstein Natatorium.

The Highlanders dominated the proceedings, taking first place in ten of the 16 total events.

The dual meet win is NJIT's seventh of the season, marking the most victories in a campaign since the Highlanders went 8-4 in 2014-15 (the most in the Division I era of the program) and the .778 winning percentage (7-2) is believed to be the program's best ever, regardless of era.

"The team stepped up big today and earned a well-deserved win," head coach Ron Farina said after the meet. "Leading the way today was one of the hardest trainers on the team in Sam Deemer, who won three several events. I am very excited by where we are as a team heading into America East Championships in 18 days."
