NEWARK, NJ - First-year NJIT men's basketball Head Coach Grant Billmeier released the team's non-conference schedule on Tuesday and his first game leading the Highlanders will take place on Monday, November 6, on the road at Miami, which is coming off a Final Four Appearance. 

The Highlanders open their home slate five days later when they host Saint Peter's at the Wellness and Events Center in Newark. NJIT's other home non-conference games include Delaware State (Nov. 20), FDU (Dec. 2), Medgar Evers (Dec. 23), and Morgan State (Dec. 31). All home games will be streamed on ESPN+ or ESPN3, as will all 16 of the Highlanders' America East Conference contests.

In addition to the opening night game in Miami, the Highlanders will also hit the road for contests at American (Nov. 16), Wagner (Nov. 25), George Mason (Nov. 29), Fordham (Dec. 6), Wake Forest (Dec.9), and Niagara (Dec. 16).

Five of the 12 games will come against first-time opponents as NJIT has never played Miami, George Mason, Wake Forest, Medgar Evers, or Morgan State. 

The games against Miami and Wake Forest are the fourth and fifth against ACC opponents in program history as the Highlanders have already played Boston College, Virginia, and Maryland before it moved to the Big Ten. 

NJIT's contests in Virginia at George Mason and in The Bronx at Fordham will be the Highlanders' first against Atlantic 10 teams since the 2019-20 season when they defeated both Fordham and Duquesne on the road. NJIT is 3-5 all time against the Atlantic 10.

The Highlanders kick off America East Conference action on January 6 when they host UAlbany in the WEC.

Game times and ticket information will be released in early October.
