NEWARK, NJ - First year NJIT men's basketball Head Coach Grant Billmeier has announced his first recruiting class as he welcomes 11 newcomers to the roster.

"I am extremely excited about the first recruiting class my staff and I put together in a short period of time," explained Billmeier. "We wanted to try and keep some of the top local talent home, but also look for the best available players in the country."

Two of the newcomers, Elijah Buchanan and Daniel Schreier, are graduate transfers from Manhattan College, where they each spent the last five years alongside new NJIT Assistant Coach RaShawn Stores. 

Billmeier also brought in nine freshmen, four of which hail from the Garden State. A comprehensive list on each of the newcomers can be found below.

"Our fans will love watching these guys play and enjoy getting to know them off the court," added Billmeier. "A lot of the players we signed came from great programs where they've received excellent coaching."

The 10 newest Highlanders join five returners, Justin Anderson, Kjell de Graaf, Mekhi Gray, Adam Hess, and Eyal Nankin on the 2023-24 NJIT roster.
