FRISCO, TX - Amine El Kholti, who recently wrapped up his four-year career as a member of the NJIT men's tennis team, was named to the Southland Conference All-Academic Team, it was announced on Thursday, May 25.
El Kholti, who was selected as Second Team All-Academic, was one of 12 named to either the First or Second Team. The all-academic teams are voted on by a head coach, sports information director and an academic/compliance staff member from each Southland Conference institution. Student-athletes must possess a 3.0 cumulative GPA and completed one full academic year at the nominating institution to qualify for All-Academic selection.
The Fez, Morocco, native put together his best statistical season on the court this spring, going 11-8 in singles play at the #2 and #3 positions. El Kholti also finished above .500 in doubles, concluding the season with a 10-9 record while playing with multiple partners at multiple positions.
El Kholti completed his degree earlier this month with an impressive 3.98 GPA while majoring in Business.
The Highlanders wrapped up their 2023 season in April with a 15-8 record.
