Women's Tennis Places Three On CSC Academic All-District Team

NEWARK, N.J. — Three NJIT women's tennis players - Joleta Budiman, Sandra Dzhambazov, and Shalom Salvi - were recently named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women's Tennis Academic All-District team.

The 2023 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 1.  The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.

Budiman, a native of Bandung, Indonesia, has posted a 3.667 GPA in the beginning of her Masters program in Management. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in May 2022 with a Bachelor's in Business with a Financial Technology concentration. Budiman was a seven-time Dean's List honoree as an undergraduate and finished with a 3.844 GPA. This season, Budiman posted a 7-2 singles and 6-9 doubles record in duals despite battling through injury all year.

A native of Krefeld, Germany, Dzhambazov is a four-time Dean's List honoree majoring in Business with a 3.859 GPA. The junior was one of three Highlanders with winning dual records in singles (7-6) and doubles (8-4) and closed out her doubles season winning her last four pairings, including at No. 2 doubles during the Southland Conference quarterfinals against Northwestern State.

Salvi, a native of Modena, Italy, is a junior and five-time Dean's List honoree majoring in Mathematical Sciences with a 3.946 GPA. Salvi was solid in dual singles (8-7, including a 4-1 record at No. 3) and added a 6-10 mark in doubles action.
