Women's Tennis Back Over .500 With 6-1 Win Over Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — The NJIT women's tennis team closed out a 2-1 weekend with an impressive 6-1 victory over the Binghamton Bearcats Sunday evening at the Lane-Starke Tennis Center.

Outside of an injury shortened defeat at No. 1 singles, NJIT (8-7) won each of its other matchups convincingly, keeping Binghamton (1-20) from earning more than three points in any one set.

The win was the Highlanders' first of 6-1 or better since their 6-1 home triumph over Wagner on February 11 and it moved NJIT to above .500 for the first time since March 16 (6-5).

NEXT UP
NJIT will take another 12-day break to train before its final regular season weekend of matches in Rhode Island against URI (April 15) and Bryant (April 16).
