PHILADELPHIA — The NJIT women's tennis team returned to action after a 12-day break but were unable to return to the win column after a 6-1 road defeat against the Temple Owls Friday at the TU Pavilion.
The Highlanders (6-7) unfortunately had to deal with a shorthanded roster after
Sandra Dzhambazov suffered an injury in warmups and
Joleta Budiman remained unavailable. With NJIT defaulting at No. 3 doubles, Temple (14-4) clinched the doubles point after winning the first flight.
Temple would lock in their victory with wins at No. 6, 4, and 5 singles before
Shalom Salvi earned NJIT's lone point in a three-set, No. 3 flight.
