2023 NCAA Regional Official Reults
EASTON, PA–Senior Dominika Pawlowska earned a fifth-place finish while graduate student Justin Petway recorded a seventh place finish at the 2023 NCAA Fencing Mid-Atlantic/South Regional hosted by Lafayette College.
Pawlowska, seeded No. 2 in the women's epee competition placed fifth while teammate Paula Zugasti finished 20th.
Petway, seeded No. 17 in the men's saber competition, picked up a seventh place finish while Christopher Cortez, who recently captured the 2023 MACFA individual saber title took 21st.
In the men's foil, senior Kevin Katayama recorded a ninth-place finish while Cristian Candescu notched a 12th place finish. In women's foil competition, Paloma Almodovar seeded No. 19, finished 16th.
On the men's epee strip, freshman Niels Roubailo registered a 12th place finish followed by Robert Hondor (18th), Daniel Jeun (19th) and Matthew Choi (32nd).
The NCAA Championships are set for March 23-26 at Duke. The Mid-Atlantic/South region has seven spots allocated in every weapon except for men's épée, where it has six. All six weapons have two national at-large spots each. Qualification to the NCAA Championships will be based 40 percent on regular-season results and 60 percent on finish at the NCAA regional.
