BOSTON, MA - Two members of the NJIT baseball team were honored by the America East for their play last weekend as the Highlanders took two of four games from Big Ten foe Purdue in a neutral-site series in Holly Springs, NC.

Albert Choi, a two-time First Team All-America East slection, was named Player of the Week, while Holden de Jong was named Rookie of the Week after an extremely successful second-career appearance in Friday's game two win.

Choi was on base all weekend, hitting .563 (9-for-16), while slugging .938 and getting on base at a .632 clip. The senior hit three triples, stole three bases, walked three times, scored twice, and knocked in a pair of runs from the leadoff spot.

de Jong was almost perfect in four innings out of the bullpen on Friday against the Boilermakers. The southpaw allowed just one baserunner, who was later erased on the basepaths, and struck out six en route to his first-career save.

NJIT will be back in action this weekend when it returns to North Carolina for the third-straight weekend, with a three-game series at #23 NC State. First pitch in Friday's game one is slated for 3pm in Raleigh.
