BOSTON - NJIT freshman
Sebastian Robinson was named the America East's Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Robinson, playing in just the third game of his collegiate career on Thursday at American, led the Highlanders with 17 points and six assists.
The 17-point effort was the most by an NJIT freshman since Zach Cooks scored 21 against Stetson in the 2017-18 season.
Robinson is the second NJIT freshman to earn Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week honors. The Highlanders are in their fourth season as members of the conference.
NJIT returns to the court this evening when it hosts Delaware State in the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center. Tip-off is slated for 7pm and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
