Men's Tennis Welcomes Wil Jenkins Ahead of Spring 2023 Season

Jenkins Comes to Newark from Wales

NEWARK, NJ - The NJIT men's tennis team added one more student-athlete to its roster ahead of the upcoming 2023 season, second-year Head Coach Marco Matteucci announced.

Wil Jenkins, a native of Neath, Wales will join the team at the beginning of the spring 2023 semester and will be immediately eligible to compete.

"We are very excited to add Wil to our team this season," said Matteuci. "He has a solid game and has seen good success over his junior career. He will add great depth to our team and make us stronger!"

The 6'0, 165 pound freshman graduated from Hibernian Private School in Naples, FL, in 2022 and has been ranked as high as 316 by the International Tennis Federation and has an11.67 UTR. Additionally, Jenkins won a J5 ITF tournament in singles and doubles. 

Jenkins and the Highlanders will open the spring 2023 campaign on January 27 when they host Rider at the Naimoli Tennis Center on the campus of NJIT. First serve is slated for 11am.
