NEWARK, NJ - The NJIT Highlanders faced off against the Stevens Ducks for a third time this season in a rubber match. The Ducks won the game by the score of 10-3 and have won the season series 2 games to 1. The Highlanders are now 1-8 in ACHA games.
Stevens scored 4 goals in the 1st period and led by a 4-goal margin after the 1st intermission. NJIT would respond with a better performance in the 2nd by scoring 3 goals in the period. Brenden Smith scored his 1st goal of the season at 16:25 mark to cut the deficit to 3. Otun and Kulpanowki got the assists on the goal. Stevens would respond with a power play goal in the middle portion of the period to make it 5-1. Dennis Skikorjak would get his 3rd goal (all against Stevens) at 6:55 with Micciche and Francescutto getting the helpers. The Ducks once again were up by 4 with a goal at 3:47. Sal Micciche would get the final goal of the period on the power play with 1:26 left. Francescutto got his 2nd assist on Micciche's 2nd goal of the year.
Stevens would score 4 times in the 3rd period to end the night. Sean Caswell made 32 saves in his 2nd straight start in net.

The Highlanders will have two games this coming weekend, they will head to Lawrenceville on Saturday to face off against D2 TCNJ. They will return home on Sunday to take on Penn State Berks at 8:30.
