Three in a Row! Courtney Branch Leads NJIT to Another Victory

Highlanders Will Enter America East Play with Three-Match Winning Streak

RIVERDALE, NY - The NJIT women's volleyball team will head into America East play on a three-match winning streak after the Highlanders swept host Manhattan on Tuesday evening in Draddy Gymnasium.

The Highlanders dominated Tuesday's match winning the first two sets by 25-19 scores and clinched the win with a 25-15 third-set victory. NJIT's three-match winning streak is its first since 2017 and the Highlanders six wins this season are the most since 2017, as well.

Senior Courtney Branch was NJIT's top performer on Tuesday, turning in one of the best individual performances in program history as she sent down 14 kills on just 15 attacks with no errors for a .933 hitting percentage.

Branch wasn't the only Highlander with tremendous offensive numbers as sophomore Ines Varela finished with eight kills of her own on 11 attacks to record a .545 hitting percentage for the match.

Senior captain Juliana Impaglia, the reigning America East setter of the week, tallied 32 assists to average 10.7 per set. Impaglia also added four kills, four digs, two service aces and a block in the victory.

Freshman Doga Emil served as NJIT's libero and led the squad with 10 digs

NJIT will return to the floor on Sunday when they travel to UAlbany to open America East play. The Great Danes will host the Highlanders at Sage College with first serve coming at 4pm.
