NEWARK, NJ--The Department of Athletics named Greg Assainte as NJIT's Equipment Operations Specialist.

Assainte comes to NJIT from Long Island University where he served as the Athletics Operations Coordinator/Equipment Manager (August 2021) and Interim Associate Athletic Director, Facilities and Operations (October 2021-May 2022).

He was responsible for athletic facilities and scheduling between both the Brooklyn and Brookville campuses, lead administrator for team and game operations for football, basketball and volleyball while managing and training part-time employees, interns and student workers.

Prior to LIU, Assainte was the Facilities and Recreation Operations Assistant at Iona College (February 2020-July 2021) assisting in all aspects of COVID-19 planning and execution within the athletics department and daily operations of all athletic facilities and events.

Assainte graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in July 2018 with a Master of Science in Sports Administration-Management and earned his undergraduate degree from University of Rhode Island in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology-Exercise Science.

In addition, Assainte served as the Basketball Operations/Assistant Coach Intern (March 2018-July 2018) and Athletic Department Assistant Intern (June 2017-February 2018) at Fairleigh Dickinson and Athletic Trainer Intern (September 2014-Mayb 2016) at Rhode Island.
