SAN ANTONIO, TX - The NJIT men's tennis team wrapped up its spring break trip to Texas on Friday, falling 6-1 to Incarnate Word at the Marby Tennis Center.
The Highlanders are now 6-7 on the season, while UIW improved to 8-6.
Amine El Kholti and
Samuel Townes earned a 6-3 victory at first doubles, but the Highlanders fell at the second and third positions to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
In singles action,
Josh Smith was the lone NJIT winner, recording a 6-3, 6-2 victory at third singles. NJIT's five other singles players were defeated in straight sets.Â
The Highlanders will return to New Jersey and get back on the courts next Sunday when they host Queens College at the Naimoli Tennis Center in Newark. First serve is slated for 1pm.
