NEWARK, NJ–NJIT's Maximus Barboto has been named 2022 America East Conference Rookie of the Year the league office announced on Tuesday, November 8.

Barboto, who was selected to the America East Conference All-Rookie team, earned Rookie of the Week accolades twice this season.

A midfielder from Wayne, NJ, Barboto played in every match but one this season (16), tallying four assists which ranks seventh in the America East.  He is the son of head coach Fernando Barboto, who is in his seventh season at NJIT.

His four assists this season ranks tied for fifth in a single season in the NJIT Division I era.
