NEWARK, NJ - The NJIT women's volleyball team played its first home match in three weeks on Tuesday evening and was defeated in three sets by Seton Hall in the Wellness and Events Center.
The Highlanders (1-13) led the first set 17-15, before a 6-0 Seton Hall (8-6) run put the Pirates ahead 21-17 en route to a 25-18 opening set victory.
SHU won the third set by an identical 22-18 score, before clinching the match with a 25-22 win in the third set.
Adriana Goetz-Morales continued her impressive junior season for NJIT with a match-best 11 kills and a .318 attacking percentage. Sophomore
Elley Torres finished with eight kills of her own, while junior
Courtney Branch had an efficent evening with five kills on just nine attacks.
Branch also contributed on four blocks including a pair of solo blocks.

Juliana Impaglia handled the setting duties for the Highlanders and finished with a match-high 27 assists.
NJIT returns to the court on Friday when it hosts Binghamton in its America East Conference opener at 6pm back in the WEC. The Highlanders swept the Bearcats last season.
