FAIRFIELD, CT--The NJIT men's fencing team wrapped up the 2021 portion of its schedule at the Tradition Invitational hosted by Sacred Heart Sunday afternoon.

The lone win on the day for the Highlander men came against Vassar (18-9).

Cristian Candescu led the Highlanders on in foil competition, recording an 8-6 mark for a winning percentage of 57% while teammate Pedro D'Avila went 8-7 in saber competition for a winning percentage of 53%.

Brett Bogert posted six wins on the foil strip.

The NJIT men will return to action in the New Year when the Highlanders compete at the Philadelphia Invitational on January 22-23.
