NEWARK, NJ--The NJIT men's basketball team hits the road Sunday for a nationally-televised matchup at Northwestern.

Game Information
Tipoff is slated for 3pm CT (4pm ET) at Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston, IL. The game will be televised on ESPNU with Jordan Bernfield and David Padgett on the call..

Last Time Out
The NJIT men's basketball team suffered a 66-49 setback to visiting Army West Point on Friday evening at the Wellness and Events Center.

NJIT (5-4) saw its three-game winning streak come to an end with the loss, while the Black Knights (6-4) have now won two in a row.

Army opened the game with a basket 1:26 into the contest and was able to hold on to its lead for the final 38:34. NJIT was within five points with six minutes to play before the Black Knights closed out the game on a 14-2 run.

Dylan O'Hearn, the America East's leading scorer, led all players with 16 points. Coleman just missed his second double-double of the season, scoring eight points and tying his career-high with 10 rebounds.

All-Time Series
Sunday's matchup is the first all-time between the Highlanders and Wildcats.

NJIT vs. The Big Ten
NJIT is 1-6 all-time against teams from the Big Ten Conference, with the victory being arguable the biggest in program history, an upset win over #17 Michigan in December 2014 in Ann Arbor. Brian Kennedy was an Assistant Coach on that team. Earlier this season NJIT took on Rutgers and led the Scarlet Knights 33-32 at halftime, before ultimately falling 75-61.

O'Hearn's Big Day
Senior Dylan O'Hearn erupted for a new Division I program-record 42 points on Sunday, December 5, as NJIT came back from a late, double-digit deficit to win in 2OT. O'Hearn scored 36 of his points at halftime and tallied all 15 of NJIT's points after regulation. The Windsor, ON, native's 42-point game is tied for the second-highest scoring effort in Division I this season as Indiana's Trayce Jackson-Davis narrowly has the first place spot with a 43-point game. O'Hearn was named the CollegeInsider.Com Lou Henson National Player of the Week (Top mid-major player) and America East Player of the Week.

America East Conference
NJIT will begin its second season in the America East and will play a schedule of 18 conference games against the other nine schools.  The Highlanders became the 10th full member of the America East on July 1, 2020.

The Highlanders were predicted to finish eighth out of the 10 league teams in the preseason coaches poll.

Next Up
The Highlanders will take a break for final exams before returning to the court on December 22 for their final non-conference game of the season at UMass. Tip-off is slated for 1pm in Amherst, MA.
