NEWARK, NJ--The NJIT women's basketball team will wrap up non-conference action on Saturday when the Highlanders visit St. Francis Brooklyn inside Daniel Lynch '38 Gymnasium.

Tip-off is slated for 2pm inside  Daniel Lynch '38 Gymnasium and for those not able to attend the game can watch via NEC Front Row with in-game statistics available on SFCAthletics.com.

Early Stretch of Four-Out-of-Five Wins
The last time the Highlanders started off the season 4-3 dates back to the 2012-13 season when NJIT went on to capture the 2013 Great West Conference Tournament Title and finished with 16 wins (the most in the NJIT DI era) and tied third-most in program history.

Stretch of Three
NJIT won a stretch of three games (Nov. 14 to Nov. 18), which began with an upset win at Big Ten opponent Wisconsin (61-49) on Nov. 14, followed up with an home overtime victory against LIU (59-53) on Nov. 18 and held on for a 67-63 win against the Blue Devils.  

The last time the Highlanders won three straight was in 2019-20 during a stretch of a pair of wins at home against St. Francis Brooklyn (Nov. 26, 2019) and Saint Peter's (Dec. 4, 2019) and on the road at Hartford (Dec. 7, 2019).

1,000 Career Points Milestone for Ellyn Stoll
Ellyn Stoll scored her 1,000 career point at Rider on December 1, 2021.  Entering the game, Stoll needed eight points to hit the milestone.  She becomes the fourth player in the NJIT Division I era to reach 1,000 career points and 10th all-time in NJIT women's basketball history.

The co-captain ranks third on the team, averaging 10.1ppg.

Last Time Out
Visiting Monmouth defeated NJIT, 62-53, Wednesday evening in women's basketball non-conference action inside NJIT's Wellness and Events Center. 

For NJIT, sophomore Lyzi Litwinko led the way with 15 points, after coming off a career-best 20 points at Lafayette on Saturday afternoon.  Litwinko finished 6-for-11 from the field and grabbed eight rebounds to go along with three assists.

Junior Kenna Squier netted 13 points on 4-of-9 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line, including seven rebounds and two assists. 

Beyond the Arc
NJIT recorded a season-best nine three-pointers in the Highlanders 67-61 home win over Saint Peter's.  The Highlanders connected on seven three-pointers three times this season -- vs. FDU (11/24), at CCSU (11/21) and at Wisconsin (11/14).

Fifth-year Ellyn Stoll paces NJIT with 18 three-pointers.

Dishing Out Dimes
The 16 assists against Saint Peter's is season-best for NJIT. Three different Highlanders -- Maria Fux, Lyzi Litwinko and Ellyn Stoll posted four assists in the win.  In a tough battle at Big East opponent Marquette, NJIT recorded 14 assists.

Crashing the Boards
Standing at 5-foot-8 Lyzi Litwinko and Kenna Squier pace the Highlanders on the glass, averaging 6.3rpg and 6.0rpg respectively.  

This season, Litwinko has grabbed at least two rebounds through the first 10 games, including a career-best nine rebounds at CCSU (11/21/21).

Highlanders Returning Leading Scorer - Kenna Squier
A season ago, Squier, the only player to average double-digits at 10.6ppg has started 47 career games and enters her junior campaign with 507 career points, 207 career rebounds while shooting 46 percent from the field (175-384) and 73 percent from the free throw line (136-186).

Through the first 10 games of the season, Squier ranks second on the team averaging 10.7ppg and has scored in double-digits in six out of nine games with a season-best 17 points at Rider on December 1, 2021. 

Rising Sophomore Lyzi Litwinko
Litwinko, named to the 2021 America East All-Rookie team, averaged 8.5ppg and 6.4rpg, including two double-doubles last season. The 5-foot-8 guard led the Highlanders on board and earned America East Conference Player of the Week five times last season.

This season, Litwinko has scored in double-figures six times, including a career-best 20 points at Lafayette on December 4, 2021 and paces the Highlanders averaging 10.9ppg.

Collegiate Debut for Trinity Williams
NJIT freshman Trinity Williams netted 13 points in her collegiate debut against Wagner the season opener on November 9, 2021.  Williams, the Highlanders 6-foot-1 forward from Upper Black, PA, shared game-high honors in her debut with 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field and 1-for-2 from downtown in 17 minutes of action off the bench.

New Faces In 2022-23
The NJIT women's basketball team added a trio of high school standouts -- Avery O'Roke (Winchester, VA), Kyleigh Welsh (Clearwater, FL) and Alejandra Zuniga (Madrid, Spain) who are set to join the Highlanders in the Fall of 2022.  

Next Up
NJIT will begin America East Conference action on December 30 at 2pm when the Highlanders host defending America East Champions and NCAA participant Stony Brook inside NJIT's Wellness and Events Center.

Stony Brook sits atop the America East with a 7-1 record with its lone loss at Fordham on December 2.
