NEWARK, NJ - The NJIT women's volleyball team was defeated by visiting UMBC in America East action on Friday at the Wellness and Events Center.
UMBC took the opening set 25-16, before winning the second set 25-11 and clinching the match with a 25-14 third-set victory.
The Highlanders were led by
Cami Augustine, who recorded six kills, while
Adriana Goetz-Morales and
Ines Varela each tallied four.
Juliana Impaglia handled the Highlanders' setting duties and dished out 21 assists, while
Kaitlyn Arias' 12 digs paced the squad.
Courtney Branch led the team in blocks with three.
NJIT returns to action on Sunday when it hosts UAlbany at 3:30 in another America East match at the WEC.
