Stony Brook, NY - The NJIT women's volleyball was defeated in straight sets by host Stony Brook on Friday evening on Long Island.
Stony Brook won the first two sets 25-15 and 25-14, respectively, before taking the third set 25-17 to clinch the victory.
The NJIT attack was led by freshman
Cami Augustine, who totaled eight kills on the evening, while
Emma Godwin,
Ines Varela, and Kaitlyn Bliesner finished with five, four, and three kills, respectively.
Julana Impaglia dished out 21 assists, while
Kaitlyn Arias led the squad with 14 digs.
The Highlanders return to the court on Sunday when they travel south to take on the reigning America East Champions, UMBC. First serve is slated for 1pm in Baltimore.
