FORT MYERS, FL--FGCU's Keri Jewett-Giles scored a game-best 22 points, leading the Eagles to an 82-39 win over visiting NJIT Saturday afternoon in ASUN Conference women's basketball action at Alico Arena.

The Eagles won its ninth straight game, improving to 20-2 overall and remaining perfect, 7-0, in ASUN action. NJIT moves to 3-16 overall, 0-6 in the ASUN.

In addition to Jewett-Giles 22 points, Davion Wingate scored 14 points, coming off the bench for the Eagles.

NJIT was led by senior forward Danielle Tunstall, who just missed notching a double-double with a team-best 12 points and nine rebounds. Freshman guard Kenna Squier added eight points and seven rebounds for the Highlanders.

FGCU scored the opening basket of the game and NJIT's Ellyn Stoll sank a three-pointer from deep knotting the game at 3-all but FGCU scored 15 consecutive points to take an 18-3 lead.

NJIT's Dani Evans knocked down an opening three-pointer to start the second quarter and NJIT scored four straight points from Kenna Squier and Danielle Tunstall, cutting the Eagles lead to 12, 22-10, with seven to go. FGCU used a 9-2 spurt to head into halftime with a 32-12 advantage.

In the third quarter, NJIT netted 12 points, shooting 75 percent from the field (6-for-8).

The home team outscored the Highlanders 31-15 in the fourth quarter, cruising to an 82-39 victory.

NJIT will wrap up its Florida road trip on Monday at 7pm when the Highlanders visit Stetson. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
