NEWARK, NJ--Kennesaw State used a 16-0 run late in the fourth quarter to secure its second straight win in league action at NJIT, 77-64, Saturday afternoon in ASUN Conference action at NJIT's Wellness and Events Center.
NJIT, trailing by just two in the fourth quarter 59-57 just under the five-minute mark, was outscored 16-0 over next four minutes as the Owls ended its late run on a 18-6 spurt, securing a 77-64Â victory.
Kennesaw State, winners of two in a row, improves to 8-7 overall, 2-2 in ASUN while the Highlanders move to 3-14 overall and are still in search for its for win in league action, falling to 0-4.
Down 37-25 at the half, NJIT exploded for 21 third-quarter points, outscoring the Owls, 21-10, and trailing by just one, 47-46, heading into the fourth quarter. NJIT's Milena Bajic scored eight points while Ellyn Stoll netted seven points in the quarter.
Kennesaw State's Carlotta Gianolla and Amani Johnson combined for 31 of the Owls 77 points followed by Alexis Poole with nine points and six rebounds.
NJIT was led by junior guard Ellyn Stoll's career-best 21 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field and 5-of-7 from three-point range. Stoll shared team-high honors with Maddie Martin, dishing out four assists each. Milena Bajic was the Highlanders other double-figure scorer, netting 14 points and grabbing six rebounds, which was a team-best.
The Highlanders will return to action on Monday for a 2pm tip-off on MLK, hosting Lipscomb in ASUN Conference action inside NJIT's Wellness and Events Center.
