PHILADELPHIA--The NJIT men's and women's fencing teams opened its 2020 campaign Saturday afternoon at the Philadelphia Invitational.

The NJIT men recorded three wins on the day against Johns Hopkins (16-11), North Carolina (15-12) and Lafayette (21-6) while the NJIT women earned a pair of wins against Haverford (15-12) and Lafayette (16-5).

The foil squad was led by Thomas Manley notching 10 wins on the day while Andrew Richardson led the saber squad with an 11-6 overall mark.

Sophomore Marina Arrese led the NJIT women's epee squad, registering 15 wins while Dorottya Berczy followed with a 13-2 mark in saber competition.

NJIT will be back in action on February 1 at the Eric Sollee Invitational.
