NEWARK, NJ--The NJIT women's volleyball team will host North Alabama in ASUN Conference action on Sunday, September 29, at the Wellness and Events Center as both squads look for their first conference victory of the season.

Honor Roll
NJIT players have picked up All-Tournament Team honors at each of the squad's four weekend events this season. Sarah Merritt was named to the All-Tournament Team at the season-opening Terrier Classic and last weekend's Tiger Invitational. while Madi Busler was named to the All-Tournament Team at the FDU Knights Fall Classic and Courtney Branch earned All-Tournament Team recognition at the Sacred Heart Invitational. 

Scouting UNA
UNA enters Sunday on a seven-match losing streak following its 3-0 win over Manhattan at the Chattanooga Classic on September 13. The Lions' only other victory this season came in their season opener when they defeated Belmont 3-1.  North Alabama opened ASUN Conference play on Friday, falling in straight sets on the road at FGCU. Freshman OH Alyssa Dutton leads the Lions with 97 kills and 2.2 k/s, while classmate Breylee Linder is the team's top setter with 240 assists and 5.45 a/s. Defensively, Freshman Anna Katherine Griggs leads UNA with 31 blocks and another freshman, Mackenzie Sullivan's 116 digs are tops on the team.

Series History
Sunday's match will be the third meeting between the Highlanders and Lions, after the squads split the season series in 2018. NJIT won 3-0 at the WEC as UNA was also victorious at home, by a 3-1 margin.

UP NEXT
Following the match against the Lions, the Highlanders will return to the court on Friday when they travel to Florida to take on Jacksonville at 7pm.
