FLORENCE, Ala. --- The NJIT women's tennis team suffered its third seven-game defeat in five matches, falling on the road to the North Alabama Lions 4-3 Saturday evening.
After a tough showing in doubles that saw Mayar No. 3 duo Eltony and
Amanda Helminsky nearly force a deciding flight at No. 1 - one that
Joleta Budiman and
Holly Matson were leading -
Mouna Bouzgarrou and Helminsky took two of the first three singles flights to tie the match, 2-2.
Budiman would put NJIT ahead 3-2 after a three-set top flight victory but the Lions were able to take Nos. 4 and 5 to steal the match from the Highlanders.
