NEWARK, N.J. --- The NJIT women's tennis team snapped a five-game losing streak with a 7-0 shutout of Kennesaw State Wednesday afternoon at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreation Facility.
"Today was a great team effort and win. I never doubted the girls' level of play despite the recent results," head coach
Zaki Abdelrahman said after the match. "I know we are a strong team and have the ability to beat anyone if they get themselves better prepared mentally. The senior Rafaella and Amanda made us proud with their performance in doubles and how they came back from one set behind to win their singles matches."Â
NJIT picked up the doubles point with wins at Nos. 2 and 3 from
Rafaella Sampaio &
Mouna Bouzgarrou and
Advaita Saravanan &
Amanda Helminsky respectively.
Holly Matson,
