NEWARK, N.J. --- The NJIT women's tennis team completed its regular season schedule on Saturday evening, falling 6-1 in its ASUN Conference finale against Liberty University.

The match also served as Senior Day for three Highlanders playing their final matches at Naimoli Center - Amanda Helminsky, Rafaella Sampaio, and Mayar Eltony.

Despite its loss, NJIT earned a spot in the 2019 ASUN Women's Tennis Championship by the end of the day. 

The Highlanders' lone point was earned at No. 1 singles by freshman Joleta Budiman, who breezed through her match in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0.

Holly Matson (No. 3 singles) and Sampaio (No. 6) nearly earned points in their single matches but were eventually defeated in three sets.
