Kennesaw State Earns 5-2 Victory Over Men's Tennis

NEWARK, N.J. --- The NJIT men's tennis team began its final homestand of the season on Wednesday morning with an ASUN matchup against the Kennesaw State Owls. The Highlanders defeated by the KSU, 5-2.

After KSU claimed the doubles point, Abdullah Fouad tied the match up at 1-1 by winning his second singles flight match in straight sets. Kennesaw State would take the first and last singles before NJIT earned another point, with Zac Castagna trimming the visitors' lead to 3-2 with a second straight set victory at the No. 2 spot.  Unfortunately, the match would be settled in the fifth flight by KSU

"Abdullah and Zac played their best matches of the year after we lost the doubles point but Kennesaw played better in bigger spots at 4, 5, and 6 and pulled out the close matches. Overall, everyone battled hard," head coach Ira Miller said after the match.
