FORT MYERS, Fla. --- ASUN Conference play resumed for the NJIT men's tennis team Saturday evening as the Highlanders conceded a 7-0 defeat on the road to the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles.
"Today was a tough match against a tough opponent. We adapted pretty well to
outdoor play but FGCU is always strong on their home courts," NJIT head coach
Ira Miller observed after the match.
The most competitive match for NJIT (4-10. 0-2 ASUN) came in the fourth singles flight as
Abdullah Fouad fought valiantly in a 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) loss.
The Highlanders will resume action at home on Saturday, March 30 when North Florida travels to Newark. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m.
