NEWARK, NJ—Visiting Drexel defeated NJIT, 5-2, Sunday afternoon in men's tennis non-conference action at The Naimoli Family and Athletic and Recreational Facility.
Drexel (5-4) opened the match with a 6-1 victory at third doubles but the Highlanders bounced back to earn the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 spot.
NJIT (2-3) duo
Tomi Antoljak and
Zac Castagna teamed for a 6-1 victory at the first spot while
Lukas Zvikas and
George Svensson recorded a 7-5 win at the second spot to earn the point.
Antoljak was the only double-winner on the day for NJIT, recording a straight set victory at the first spot 7-6, 6-4.
NJIT will return to action on Friday, February 22 when the Highlanders visit Army at 2pm.
